Boone County Council on Aging

Boone County Council on Aging was established in 1973 as a grassroots organization by group of citizens who felt it was important to identify and address the unmet needs of the county’s older adults. The mission of Boone County Council on Aging is to provide a continuum of services that improve the lives of people 55 and older.

Brighter Thailand Foundation

Brighter Thailand Foundation is an organization aimed at supporting both educational and personal development of Thai youth -- the next generation of workers, parents, and citizens who represent the future of their country. The word "Brighter Thailand Foundation" refers to an improvement in personal development, leadership, civic engagement among youth of Thailand.

Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center

Cedar Creek is a non-profit agency that has served the Mid-Missouri area since 1988. Led by Founder and Executive Director Karen Grindler, the center provides therapy to more than 200 riders per year in 8-week Spring, Summer and Fall sessions. Cedar Creek requires many volunteers to assist with the therapy and make riding safe and fun for the people who come each week.

Columbia Interfaith Resource Center

The CIRC is attempting to purchase a new property which will offer a wide range of services to Columbia's homeless. Comprehensive services such as these do not currently exist, while a need for them is dire. CIRC provides a day shelter for the homeless population of Columbia, including shower facilities, telephone access, lunch, a mailing address, and limited medical assistance.

Global Issues Leadership Development (GILD)


Global Issues Leadership Development (GILD) is a nonprofit organization created to help promote human rights through youth after-school programs that generate behavioral change among participants. We partner with businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and communities to provide educational information and hands-on practice in the form of leadership training and curriculum development.

Heart of Missouri CASA

Heart of Missouri Court Appointed Special Advocates' mission is to train and support volunteers to be exceptional voices for every abused and neglected child in Boone and Callaway county family courts. Since our founding in 2005, we have trained 155 Heart of Missouri CASA volunteers. Those volunteers have served 377 children.

MedZou

The MedZou Clinic is a student-operated medical clinic that provides free primary healthcare. Our mission is to join with community partners to provide patient care and education for the residents of Columbia without insurance. A multi-disciplinary team of health professional students and faculty, including family medicine doctors, nurses, and social workers, contribute to providing a quality healthcare experience.

Nora Stewart Early Learning Center

For more than 75 years, the mission of the organization has been to provide an educational facility for young children as well as a safe and nurturing environment on a sliding scale for children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford care. Children are supported with proper nutrition and a strong academic curriculum emphasizing reading, math, and other critical skills.

Renew Missouri

Renew Missouri was formed in 2006 to advance energy efficiency and renewable energy policy in Missouri. Renew Missouri’s mission is to transform Missouri into a leading state in both efficiency and renewable energy by the year 2016. In 2008, Renew Missouri helped Missouri become the 27th state to enact a Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) and only the 3rd state to pass an RES through the ballot initiative process. The RES requires Missouri’s largest utilities to get 15% of their energy from renewables by 2021, with 2% of that energy coming from solar.

Southern Boone Learning Garden
