MPA Program Application

To apply to the Truman School MPA program, upload application materials using the online MU Graduate Application for Admission: Apply Yourself site. An application is complete when all of the required materials are received. This application checklist will help you keep track.

    • Statement of Interest
      Explain why you wish to pursue a Master of Public Affairs degree. Include a brief biographical statement, description of volunteer and leadership experiences, explanation of lapses in employment or schooling and other information that you feel may support your application.

    • Three Letters of Recommendation
      You may use the recommender form and/or have letters mailed to the Truman School or emailed to Truman@missouri.edu. (At least two letters should come from academic sources for applicants interested in an assistantship or fellowship.)

    • Official transcripts of all previous college or university education
      Request that each college or university send official transcripts to the above address; no transcript will be accepted directly from the applicant.
    • GRE Score Report (not required for Mid-Career MPA program applicants)

    • TOEFL or IELTS Score Report (required of applicants whose native language is not English)
