Truman School awarded $240,000 to develop online degree program

The Truman School of Public Affairs was recently awarded a $240,000 grant from the University of Missouri to create an Online Master of Public Affairs degree program. The Online MPA is designed for professionals who have 3 or more years of public affairs related work experience and will be open to domestic and international students. This program offers an exciting option for students in Missouri and the Midwest who are unable to enroll in on-site classes in Jefferson City or Columbia.

The online degree will be launched in January 2014 and will be rolled out over the following two years. The program will require successful completion of 33 credit hours, with courses offered in nine-week sessions. Courses will be scheduled so that students can take up to 5 classes per year, allowing for degree completion in just over two years. More detailed information about the program will be posted as it becomes available. Applications for admission to the program will be available in October 2013.
