State Laws and Traffic Safety
Dr. Lilliard E. Richardson, Jr.Lilliard Richardson conducts research on how laws affect traffic safety, mainly in the American states with some work in the European Union. He has examined the effectiveness of seat belt laws, speed limits, child safety seat laws, drinking and driving regulations, and policies affecting large trucks. His research uses a variety of research methods, including web and mail surveys, pre- and post-test evaluations of programs, cross-sectional time series analysis, logistic regression, latent variable IRT analysis, and quantile regression.
