MPA Program

Students select careers in public service to solve critical problems facing society, to help people, to serve their communities, and to make a difference. The Truman School MPA Program prepares students to make a difference. Recipient of the American Society for Public Administration-Section on Public Administration Education's 2003 Curriculum Innovation Award, the MPA Program is specifically designed to prepare students for careers in a new public service that spans the government, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Truman School students study with outstanding faculty, who are talented teachers as well as active, nationally recognized scholars. Policy forums, round-tables with policy makers, lectures by distinguished visiting scholars, and research symposia also enrich student learning. Small classes taught both on campus and in Jefferson City, the state's capital, make for a lively learning environment.

Students come to MU from all across the United States and other countries, making the student body a diverse group of individuals seeking to broaden their perspectives and to sharpen their skills. Graduates of the Truman School MPA Program are ready for the challenge, excitement, and responsibility that comes in today's dynamic public service.
