Hull oversees annual AEFP conference as Executive Director
In addition to her role as an assistant teaching professor in the Truman School, Dr. Angela M. Hull is Executive Director for the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP), a non-profit professional and academic association with a stated mission to “promote understanding of means by which resources are generated, distributed and used to enhance human learning.”
AEFP recently held its 42nd annual conference in Washington, DC. Under the theme Education Policy and Research in the Post-Obama Era, AEFP brought together academic researchers, practitioners, and policymakers for research-focused paper sessions, policy panels, and poster sessions.
As AEFP Executive Director, Hull coordinates all aspects of the annual conference, including site selection, board planning meetings, scheduling, and registration. She also supports broader organizational development throughout the year, from fundraising to marketing of AEFP’s official journal, Education and Finance Policy.
This year’s AEFP conference gave Truman School student Emily Dwyer the opportunity to gain experience relevant to her career aspirations in public policy. As part of her Graduate Research Assistantship, Dwyer helped prepare for the conference during the fall and spring semesters and ultimately attended, both to help ensure smooth operations and for the educational and networking experience.
