Civil Discourse in an Uncivil Age: Public Lecture with PBS’ Alexander Heffner

On March 20, the host of PBS’ The Open Mind presented a public lecture entitled Civil Discourse in and Uncivil Age to a standing room only crowd at the Reynolds Journalism Institute.  The lecture was sponsored by Mizzou’s Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy and followed by a panel co-sponsored by the Kinder Institute and the Truman School.  The panel was moderated by Dr. Stephanie Shonekan, Chair, Black Studies Program, School of Music.  Additional panel participants were Dr. Christa Dierksheide and Dr. Justin Dyer with the Kinder Institute, Dr. Devin Fergus, History & Black Studies and Truman School, and Dr. Berkley Hudson, School of Journalism.  Check out the video on YouTube:
