Giving

Why Give?

Gifts from alumni and friends make a significant difference in the lives of students. Financial support of the Dean’s Fund for Excellence, scholarships, academic enrichment and other priorities serves to elevate students and programs.

The Dean’s Fund for Excellence enables the director to provide special student programs, hire and retain outstanding faculty, take advantage of unexpected opportunities and more.

Scholarships are used to compete for top students while faculty support encourages top professors to choose the Truman School.

Your support has sweeping influence on students who become vital leaders and policy makers, and gifts of every size make the Truman School stronger.

Ways to give

Endowed Funds

Endowment funds are permanent funds that distribute an annual payout year after year. Endowments continue to give forever. Truman School endowments can range from completely unrestricted, allowing the school to pursue unexpected opportunities, to scholarships and fellowships, endowed faculty positions and funds that support the school’s programs.

We welcome gifts of any size to existing endowments. If you are interested in establishing a named endowment with a minimum gift of $25,000, please contact us.

Gift Planning

Planned gifts allow you to make charitable gifts now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself. There are ways to make a gift that take into consideration your personal circumstances and the needs of your heirs. There are gifts you can make today, gifts that pay you income and gifts that benefit the Truman School after your lifetime.

One misconception is that gift planning is only for the “wealthy.” The truth is, even people of modest means can make a difference through gift planning. Alumni and friends of every age and from all walks of life support the Truman School using planned gifts. No matter who they are or where they are from, all have one thing in common: they love the Truman School and want it to thrive.

Join them in creating lasting benefits for students through a planned gift.
