Student organizations provide opportunities to deepen learning experiences, through conversation, events, and support. While there are many organizations students may join at the University of Missouri, the Truman School hosts a variety of organizations for students interested in the fields of political science and public policy.

Graduate Association of Political Scientists (GAPS)

GAPS is the student organization for graduate students involved in political science degree programs. It hosts monthly meetings with informational sessions, seminars on health and wellness, professional development activities, and social activities.

Maintaining self-care is of utmost importance during stressful times in graduate school, so GAPS provides informational sessions on the variety of counseling services and fitness activities available on campus.

Association of Mizzou Public Affairs Students (AMPAS)

AMPAS provides graduate public affairs students the opportunity to build relationships and camaraderie through social gatherings and builds on formal studies with academic enrichment activities. Because public service is at the heart of what we do, AMPAS  also coordinates philanthropic activities among students and faculty. Examples of this work include raising funds for local charities, participating in community-wide volunteer events, and organizing Mizzou Alternative Breaks outings.

We welcome students from all majors and backgrounds, and we look forward to seeing you there!
