Biography

Kathy Miller is the Director of Academic Programs, a role she assumed in May of 2016. She has been with the Truman School of Public Affairs since its inception in 2001.  For 15 years, she served as the Program Director for the Rural Policy Research Institute, a research institute focused on the design and impact of public policy on rural people and places.  In 2013 she took on the role of Director of the MPA Online Program, which was launched in January of 2014.  Her research interests are in the areas of rural economic development and rural poverty. In addition, she has instructed two courses in the MPA program: Research Methods and Regional and Economic Development Policy. Kathy lives with her husband, two daughters, and a wide assortment of farm animals in Blackwater, Missouri.
