Chaegyung (Christine) Jun is a PhD student at the Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs and is originally from Seoul, South Korea. She received a bachelor’s in Political Science from Ewha Women’s University, South Korea in 2006. Recently she has been studying in Europe where she received a master’s in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2009 and a master’s in Political Economy of European Integration from Berlin School of Economics and Law in 2011. While studying in Europe, she met her husband who is a Political Science PhD student at MU. Prior to moving to Columbia, Chaegyung worked for the Government of Korea as an editor and translator.
Chaegyung’s research interests include social policy, comparative social policy, poverty, and social stratification. In particular, she is interested in the impact of specific social policies, such as poverty alleviation policies, on different population groups. In her free time, she likes to draw, cook, and play the piano.
