Rob Russell is an Assistant Extension Professor at the University of Missouri and serves as the Senior Program Director of University of Missouri Extension's Business & Communities Program. In this role, he provides leadership for Extension's programs in Business Development, Community Development, Labor and Workforce Development, and Regional Economic Development.  

Prior to moving into this role, he has served as the Education Director of Extension's Labor and Workforce Development Program.  His academic work focuses broadly on workforce issues facing the state of Missouri, including workforce trends and the ways communities and businesses can tackle those trends; labor and employment law; and Extension's role in workforce development.  

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Missouri; a Master's in Geography from the University of Alabama; and a PhD in Geography from the University of Iowa.
