Where Do Federal Contracting Dollars Go in Missouri?
In a white paper entitled Federal Contracting Trends in Missouri, Dr. Mark C. White, State Specialist, Labor and Workforce Development and Policy Research Scholar, Truman School of Government and Public Affairs, examines the distribution of federal contract dollars among Missouri contractors and subcontractors.
Dr. White looks at which federal agencies spend money in Missouri, how that compares to other states, the companies that receive the most, who benefits, and what level of subcontracting occurs. Of note, 42 federal agencies utilized 3,400 Missouri-based companies in contract and subcontract work in FY2019 with DOD contracts providing most of Missouri's contract activity. Read more.
