Bio:

Jacob Authement is a political science PhD student with subfields in American politics and public policy and administration. His research focuses on American state institutions, mostly focusing on state legislatures, interest group politics, and state agencies. His dissertation studies legislative expertise in state legislatures and how these legislatures gain, lose, and replace this expertise both on their own and with the help of interest groups.
