Truman School of Government and Public Affairs

Sara Gable is Director of the Institute of Public Policy in the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs. Her research centers on national and state policy for child care and early education and three- to five-year olds' mathematical development.  With MU colleagues Dave Geary, Jordan Booker, and Jessica Rodrigues, they are undertaking a longitudinal study of young children's math learning experiences at preschool and at home with the aim of developing a multi-system intervention to improve children's math knowledge and skills at kindergarten entry (Multisystemic approach to early math development and math learning disability; P20 HD109951). From 2016-2019, Sara was the Faculty Fellow in the MU Office of Research and Economic Development and provided leadership for the university’s internal funding programs.
