Kelly Schultz is the Director of Legislative Leadership Academy and Undergraduate Internships at the University of Missouri Truman School of Government and Public Affairs. She is the President of the Child Advocacy Center of Central Missouri Board. Schultz was the Child Advocate for the State of Missouri for ten years and prior to that spent 12 years working in the Missouri Legislature. Schultz has served on numerous boards including: the Missouri Task Force on Children’s Justice, Child Fatality Review Program State Panel, Missouri State Foster Care and Adoption Board, Missouri State Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, the Prevention of the Sexual Abuse of Children Workgroup, and the Task Force on Human Trafficking. She has also worked for non-profits including the Rainbow House and the Missouri State Alliance of YMCAs. Schultz graduated from the University of Missouri with an undergraduate degree in political science and master’s in public administration. She considers her current role at MU as her full circle moment of preparing the next generation of public servants. Her and her husband are foster adoptive parents and have gotten to be a part of 18 children and 6 grandchildren’s lives.
