Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services through a grant provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
IPP was contracted by Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct program surveillance and analysis for the Missouri Arthritis and Osteoporosis Program (MAOP). The grant was awarded in July 2012 through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is a multi-year project.
The intent of the program is to provide evidence-based and promising practice interventions to improve the quality of life for those with arthritis. MAOP offers four types of courses for dealing with arthritis: Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, Tomando (Spanish version of CDSMP), and Walk with Ease (group and individual format). The implementation of these courses is carried out by the seven Regional Arthritis Centers around the state.
As the data managers, IPP coordinates, conducts, and reports on the surveillance and evaluation activities for the program. The collected data is then used to track progress toward program goals, make adjustments to programming, report back to the funding agency, and promote the program’s impact.
