The St. Louis County Department of Public Health contracts IPP to serve as the external evaluators for the Minority Youth Violence Prevention II: Project RESTORE grant. IPP conducts a Restorative Justice assessment and evaluation for the program. 

Project RESTORE (Reconciliation and Empowerment to Support Tolerance and Race Equity) began in 2017 as a partnership between the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, St. Louis County Police Department, Police Athletic League, Missouri universities, and St. Louis County Public Schools. The project leverages existing and emerging Restorative Justice research, establishes community partnerships, adapts youth programs, and structures community policing to build a cohesive, cross-sector ecosystem of violence prevention, academic support, and behavioral health promotion activities for environmentally and/or economically disadvantaged, predominantly Black/African American youth living in north St. Louis County.

Impact  

Project RESTORE aims to plan, implement, and evaluate a series of coordinated, multi-disciplinary interventions tailored for minority, at-risk youth. The interventions look to improve academic, disciplinary, and health-related protective factors and reduce risk factors for violent behaviors among participating youth living in north St. Louis County. Successful programming will be shared on a regional, state, and national level for Restorative Justice best-practices research.
