21st Century Afterschool Program Evaluation

Missouri Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program Evaluation

The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS) contracted IPP to serve as the external evaluators for the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) and the Title V Sexual Risk Avoidance Education program (SRAE). Missouri’s PREP and SRAE programs are part of a national initiative to reduce teenage pregnancy rates through the use of evidence-based programs. DHSS chose five evidence-based programs to implement in Missouri:

Zika Virus and Birth Defects

The Institute of Public Policy conducted focus groups and surveys to understand the public’s awareness of the Zika virus and birth defects for the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services in order to strengthen the Missouri Zika Surveillance, Intervention and Referral System (MOZSIRS). The IPP conducted six focus groups in total between January and March 2018. Four focus groups and surveys were conducted with women of childbearing ages in Columbia, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Cape Girardeau.

Boone Indicators Dashboard Project

The Institute of Public Policy and OSEDA were contracted by the Boone Indicators Group to collect and maintain the most reliable data sources regarding populations and issues of Boone County residents in the Boone Indicators Dashboard.  The data is used by community stakeholders to inform their planning, resource investment, and management.

University of Missouri Engagement Network: Impact Portal

The University of Missouri benefits all Missourians through teaching, research, extension, and engagements that have statewide reach and impact well beyond the campus and its classrooms.

The University of Missouri IMPACT website provides a searchable inventory of MU programs, activities and educational opportunities that bring valuable knowledge and resources directly to the people and communities of Missouri. Information can be viewed statewide or can be filtered by county, school district, or State House, State Senate and Congressional legislative districts.

Preferred Family Healthcare Primary and Behavioral Health Care Integration Program (PBHCI)

IPP contracted with Preferred Family Healthcare (PFH) to provide program support and conduct an evaluation of its PBHCI program. The purpose of this program is to provide support for communities and organizations to coordinate and integrate primary care services into publicly funded community-based behavioral health settings.  Desired outcomes of this program are:

Mid-America Regional Council At-Risk Youth Investment Plan

The Children and Youth Project Team of the Homelessness Task Force of Greater Kansas City is working to secure new resources for children and youth services in our nine county region. Communities throughout the state of Missouri and other places have secured new public and private funds to meet growing needs. The project team believes that the community could support new resources if needs are demonstrated and a plan for investing new funds is broadly supported.
