I have wanted to do many things with my life. Throughout my childhood, at various times, I planned to be an astronaut, firefighter, train conductor, professional soccer player, and architect. As I grew older, though, I believed engineering was the correct path for me. I enjoyed learning strategies to solve complex problems, and after graduating high school, I began my pursuit of a degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas.

Three University of Missouri Political Science PhD candidates, Donatien Adou, Elizabeth Dorrsom, and Yu Bin Kim, were selected to attend The Institute for Qualitative and MultiMethod Research (IQMR) through Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University on fellowship.
Each year 15 individuals are selected to receive a fellowship to attend the conference. These fellowships receive an average of 13 applications per available spot.
Chastity is a first-year graduate student in the Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs. Before beginning at the Truman school, Chastity served as an Americorps VISTA member for a local nonprofit organization, Rural Action, during the summer of 2020 after earning her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Ohio University.
MU Department of Human Development and Family Science in the College of Human Environmental Sciences was awarded a new 5-year, $6.4 million grant to continue the ShowMe Healthy Relationships project. The Institute of Public Policy and Irma Arteaga, Associate Professor in the Truman School of Public Affairs will provide research and evaluation of the project.
Truman School Associate Professor Dr. Mary Stegmaier will be observing elections in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan through the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Kyrgyzstan is holding early Presidential elections on January 10, 2021, as a result of a revolution in October. Dr. Stegmaier has previously observed elections in Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, and Albania.

The Institute of Public Policy's Emily Johnson and Rachel Dicke joined Wendy Doyle, President and CEO of United WE (formerly Women's Foundation), and Celeste Cramer, System Director of Recruitment & Retention of CoxHealth for a virtual press conference unveiling new research on Thursday, November 12th, updating the public on the Status of Women in Missouri. United WE first commissioned the University of Missouri's Institute of Public Policy to determine areas of concern and policy solutions for Missouri's women in 2015 for a baseline study.
